Movie Mondays: Battle Los Angeles

Today's Movie Monday is about the movie Battle Los Angeles. First let me say that I love alien sci fi movies. They are my favorite type of movie. And I remember back when this movie first came out and there were so many commercials, it looked interesting. I was hoping that it was really good. Some time went by and I completely forgot about it. Well i was looking through our OnDemand movies and saw it, and figured it was as good a time as any to watch. So I did. I have mixed feelings about this movie though.

On one hand, I loved the fact that they had Michelle Rodriguez in it. She can do no wrong in my eyes. I love that woman, lmao. I seriously really like her. I was also surprised to see Ne-yo in this movie. I was even more surprised to see that he is a really good actor! I like how everything happened right from the start. There was no slow beginning, they got right in the shit. What I didn't like, was how almost everybody (it seemed) died. It was an okay movie, but the ending was a bit unfinished.

In Independence Day when Aliens came and the main characters figured out how to destroy the aliens, they communicated it to the other countries and it showed the other countries defeating the aliens and the movie ended on a happy, triumphant note. With Battle Los Angeles, yes they were able to defeat that mother ship and the main characters were safe. But they decide to go help with the next mission. And the movie ends with them banding together for the mission. Then that's it!! No full conclusion to the whole story. I know, the movie is about the battle for Los Angeles, but they leave the ending open and I don't like that.  As for the aliens, you get a good look at one, but that's it. I think that they could have really worked on that more and shown them better.

All in all, this was a decent movie, but not one that I would watch again.
