Blog Planning

First let me say that this is totally not my own idea. I suck at planning. I got this idea from the awesome Kaylah over at The Dainty Squid. She has an amazing blog, you should definitely check her out! She posted her method of planning out blog posts for each month. I love the way she has this broken down. I'm such a doof, I knew that people with big blogs plan things out, i just had no clue how they did it. I'm so glad that she shared this! I don't want to say that I am copying her, but I am. Her way of organizing seems to work for me. The color coding is totally up my alley. Anything bright and colorful? Yep I'm all over that. I need to tweak things the more I use this method, but so far so good. After going to Office Depot to get a calendar, I went to target to get sticky notes, because there was no way I was going to pay $7 for a two pack that I could get at Target for half that price (I'm cheap, I admit it). I sat down and used some scrap paper to write down what I wanted to include on my blog for this month. Because this is the first time Ive actually sat down and written a plan for it, I was somewhat stumped. I'm normally the "fly by the seat of your pants" type person, and most of the posts i write are sparked by something that happened or something that I saw or heard that particular day. After sitting there with a blank page for a while, I was able to get the ball rolling. I started with my regular "Movie Monday posts. Then I added a new regular post that will debut in May. Then I started writing down the other things I wanted to incorporate into my blog (y'know, the things I posted about say a week ago or so?). I feel like I've got a solid base to work with here. I'm already starting to think about things for the next few months (mostly July).

hooray for planning/organizing! It feels good to have something in order!

I was a bit unsure about some of the things to post for the month of May, only because I know that it is going to be an insane (in a good way) month for me and the family. During the last week of May, we will be moving from Louisville Kentucky to Fort Hood Texas. In a Uhaul. With our son. Who is 3...We will have one heck of an adventure on our hands and I'm totally looking forward to this chapter in our families lives!

I feel a bit more professional!

Next month starts many changes for me and for my family. With so many things that will be going on, I may have to move some posts around or add and take some away, but this process is going to be a blast and I'm going to love all of it! So stay tuned for lots of fun and exciting things to come!
