Movie Monday: Hotel Transylvania

I am so excited to bring you this week's Movie Monday post! Its about the movie Hotel Transylvania. We could not WAIT for this movie to come out. After the first preview my son saw, every week he asked if we could go see it. Last weekend he was sick so we were not able to go anywhere, but this weekend we were definitely going to go. I asked if he would be interested in seeing Frankenweenie but he said no. Now, I'm so glad we stuck with this movie!

Hotel Transylvania was such a great movie! It was definitely appropriate for children of all ages (my son is 3 years old), as well as adults. I was in tears laughing at some parts! The basis of the movie is this:

Dracula builds a hotel for monsters. It's a bit of an oasis for them, they don't have to worry about or fear humans. Its a safe haven for them and they come for Dracula's daughter, Mavis' birthday. She wants to explore the world and see what is out there but Dracula dosen't want her to go. He has told her that humans are terrible and mean...but then the unthinkable happens. A human finds his way to the hotel...

That's all I will say. That's basically all they show in the preview as well so I will not spoil the rest of the movie. Although there is a ton of humor and funny things that go on, there is also a real story behind the laughs that I think they did a good job with.

Halloween is my favorite holiday and for a long time Nightmare Before Christmas was my favorite movie. But now, I am pretty sure that this will be my new favorite! I would love to see this movie a second time. As a matter of fact, I told my husband that. So maybe when he gets back we will all go together as a family and watch it! It is definitely worth watching again in my opinion!
