What do you do when you've found yourself burnt out? Whether it's working out, studying, painting or even blogging; sometimes it's inevitable that you'll become bored, tired or just done with it. You know, the feeling of just wanting to give up? How do we keep motivated to push through? How do we keep ourselves on track?
TAKE A STEP BACK
When we take a step back and look at our situation, sometimes we are able to get a better sense of whats going on, and how to fix it. We can see where we and why we are losing our motivation. Analyze the situation and think about why you're feeling burnt out. This also allows you the opportunity to walk away, clear your head and come back with a fresh point of view. Sometimes space or a break is just what we need to keep going.
REMEMBER THE GOAL
Think about the reason you got started in the first place. What did you hope to accomplish in the end? Even if you aren't where you want to be, you're far from where you were when you started. Always remember what you're working for and that your hard work is going to pay off in the end.
Having a strong support system is vital to everything you do. If you have people that believe in you and are there when you need them, you definitely increase your motivation level. But at times when you need help, you can turn to your support system. There's nothing like having your own personal cheerleaders. The right support system can not only help you to keep going, they can actually make you excited to do more!
DON'T GIVE UP
Okay so you slacked off on your writing, you totally blew your diet. These kinds of things are totally normal. for some of us, this happens way more than we'd like to admit. A setback might bum you out but its not the end of the world. Instead of giving in to defeat, you have to pick yourself back up and start where you left off. You can do it, you just have to work a little bit harder. Don't think too much about it sucking, or being boring, or questioning if you even want to do it. Just get out there and do it!
We all lose our motivation from time to time and that's okay. But we have to try as much as we can to keep our motivation going so we can accomplish our goals. How are some ways that you maintain your motivation?
