Top 5 Natural Skin Care Alternatives

Natural Beauty Alternatives | Evon Von Blog

The beauty industry is an ever growing, ever evolving powerhouse of skin care products. Each one promising to tighten this, lighten that, or de-age every fold of skin. Skin care companies invest so much money into creating products with tons of ingredients. While I love trying different products, I also enjoy going back to all natural remedies for skin care. Here are my top 5 natural skin care alternatives:

The humble potato, it's the giver of several things we all enjoy. Chips, fries and vodka. Yet they can also be beneficial for the skin. Specifically dark circles. I've got dark circles under my eyes and I tried holding a slice of potato (russet) under my eye intermittently for 15 minutes. I did notice a difference between the eye that was not

Most people know that eggs are a great source of protein, and that egg whites alone cuts down on cholesterol consumed. However, egg whites are useful in other ways as well. Applying egg whites to the skin helps to tighten pores of the skin, and reduces the appearance of wrinkles (which I desperately need right now). When I experimented with egg whites, I put it on my face as a mask, and left it on for 15 minutes. Then I rinsed it off using warm water. This definitely works wonders! My skin still feels smooth, my wrinkles have lessened, and my face overall feels tighter.

Coconut oil is an amazing thing. There are so many different uses, I need to dedicate an entire article just for the many benefits of it. For this article I'm just focusing on one use. That use is moisture. Coconut oil is a very light oil. Its a solid until warmth hits it and then it becomes a liquid. Also being a fast absorbing oil this multipurpose oil makes a great moisturizer. A bonus to beauty/skin care, it can also double as a makeup remover!

Delicious, creamy yogurt. While tasty and versatile when it comes to consuming, as with other items on my list, yogurt has a great alternative use for skin care. This creamy goodness contains Lactic Acid which helps to gently exfoliate the skin, leaving you with vibrant, glowing skin.

Sugar pie honey bunch, honey is probably one of the most useful products around. Did you know that the shelf life for honey is indefinite? That being said, if you've got honey sitting around in your pantry, you should always have on hand a great alternative for skin care.

Have you tried any of these alternatives before? Do you have another skin care alternative you could add to this list? I'd love to hear from you guys!

lotsa love to ya!
