Healthy Snacking



I'm a snacker, I admit it. I like to snack any time i can to be honest. My snacking methods have gone through several changes though. Plain chips and ranch dip- my go to combo for snacking for a while Now, I know that kind of food isn't good and I've been making strides towards healthier eating habits. So on my hunt for a healthier way to snack, I tried lots of alternatives, and some of them were down right amazing. They are all substantial vegetables and they are absolutely amazing when paired with Chobani Meze Dip. It's so delicious! These dips are packed with flavor and a lot healthier for you than other dips. Do you like hummus? Did you know that Chobani Meze Dips have 80% less fat and 65% fewer calories than the leading hummus? Did I mention how delicious their dips are? Because they are great.  

Choosing an alternative to chips or crackers can be tricky business. You want a substitute that not only tastes great, but something sturdy that will hold up to dipping. You can never go wrong with broccoli and carrots. There's a reason they are all staples with dipping trays!


Okay, so to piggyback off of broccoli, cauliflower is also a great dipping vehicle. For some reason not a lot of people I've talked to like cauliflower (I don't know why). I think cauliflower is great in any way shape or form, especially with dip. They're like little sponges, they soak up the flavor they're in!



Other than these common vegetables, What else can be used? How about trying peppers!Some people seem intimidated by peppers, fearing the heat, but that's nothing to worry about. By cutting them into long slices (and getting rid of the seeds) you're left with perfectly sized slices, and no heat!


Tomatoes. I love tomatoes. Grape, cherry and heirloom tomatoes; they're all great in my opinion. Grape and cherry tomatoes are especially fun with dip. Although with these tomatoes its more of dunking them rather than dipping them. And the pop of biting into them is an added bonus of fun!



Cucumbers are also a great alternative! They have such a clean taste. They are mild but they pair so well with any sort of dip. Especially one as flavorful as Chobani's Chili Lime Meze dip! The contrast from the clean cucumber and the bold dip works in the tastiest way.



Another vegetable I'm sure you hadn't thought about using for dip is asparagus! Yes, I said asparagus. Either raw or ever so slightly grilled. The key is to keep the crunch! It's got an interesting flavor on its own, but it brings freshness to snacking. I love asparagus and I could eat it all day if i could. This just gives me an added excuse to eat it during the day more!

Snacking doesn't have to be boring, have fund with it at the same time being healthy. Making small changes from things like chips and pretzels to vegetables can have a huge impact. That way not only are you doing something great for your body, you're also having a bit of fun and trying something new at the same time! Now tell me, how do you snack?
